Don’t Get It Wrong! Here’s How to Care for Your Child’s Curly Hair to Keep It Healthy and Beautiful.
“Wow, such beautiful curly hair!” That’s probably a saying that comes out of your mouth, Moms, when you pass by a child sporting their adorable, bouncy curls. And sometimes, you’ll find it hard to fight an urge to reach out and touch their adorable curls. But did you realise there’s some specific ways to look after your little ones curly locks?
Whether you love or hate it, curly hair can be cute, but taken care of your little one’s curls can be a tricky task. This hair type is generally fine, susceptible to damage, dryness and tangling. If you have an enfant with wavy locks, you must be more careful with products and methods to care for their hair.
For those of you who are still struggling, here are some simple tips to protect your child’s curly hair:
1. Don’t Wash Too Often
As per FirstCry Parenting, frequent shampooing of your kid’s hair can make them dry and dull. In fact, curly hair needs more moisture. Be sparing about shampooing — a maximum of twice a week — since your child’s curly hair is porous.
You may also try co-washing (washing hair with conditioner only) because sulfates (detergents) in shampoos cut dirt out of hair administration, which can cause the hair to lose moisture and occasional oils—the consequences is that hair without sustenance will desert the dry and their surface leaves them more delicate to any kind of harm.
2. Handle Tangles Properly
Curly hair tangles easily. Use products that are made for children’s curly hair to avoid tangling. This can ease washing their hair and soften its texture.
Conditioner can also help prevent tangling; it smooths the hair, making it easier to deal with. While you channel your inner 10, leave the conditioner on for a few minutes as you softly detangle their hair. After rinsing, use a wide-toothed comb or your fingers to comb through their hair.
3. Choose the Right Products
Choosing products that are appropriate for your child’s curly hair texture is key. Try hair care products that do not contain silicones, sulfates and parabens. If you are confused about what products to use, seek advice from an expert for the recommended products.
4. Keep Their Hair Fresh
The nice thing about curly hair is that it tends to look best right after a wash, but to keep that fresh, defined curl look, simply spray a little water mixed with some conditioner on your child’s curls.
Style their hair after you spray it to define their natural curl. If you have very little time, just mist their hair down with the conditioner-water mixture and let it air dry.
5. Use conditioner following shampoo
After you bathe, you can apply leave-in conditioner even if you used conditioner before bathing to keep your hair from losing moisture. It will smooth the child’s curls, making them softer and perfectly defined.
With these tips, you can keep your baby’s curly hair healthy and gorgeous daily, Moms!
